Arrested Gestures
Photo series «Arrested Gestures»
2019-2025
Over several years I attended a range of performances, recording movements that became distinctive fragments of bodily memory. Each photograph captures a dance at the instant a gesture is not yet complete yet already torn from the flow of time. The pause functions not merely as a visual device but as a metaphor for stored memory—movement, emotion, and the body’s negotiation of space condensed into a single frame.

I am fascinated by somatic memory: the body’s ability to archive experience and affect that elude rational comprehension. In «Arrested Gestures» every image carries such a kinetic pattern, preserving the physical trace of what has already passed yet still resonates beneath the skin.
